Job Description

Freshworks is seeking a highly-motivated and enterprising counsel to join the Freshworks Legal Team. You will draft, negotiate and advise on all contractual obligations that Freshworks will enter into with its Vendors. You will mentor juniors in the team to make them adapt and more efficient in the work they do, while also being mentored by senior counsels.

  • Draft, review, negotiate strategic contracts related to vendors and product integrations.

  • Efficiently manage risk and ensure business and compliance needs are accurately reflected in agreements.

  • Work in close collaboration with a diverse range of internal stakeholders including Product Counsel, Privacy Counsel, Country Counsel, Policy, Communications and other subject matter experts to identify, anticipate and mitigate privacy related risks

  • Research on legal issues and make revisions as necessary to standard templates / policies.

  • Assist the Regional Counsel in briefing and managing external consultants where specialist advice is required.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in law with demonstrated excellent academic performance.

  • 6-9 years of experience as a transactional attorney in a reputable business law firm, or in-house experience with the legal department preferably in a multi-national company.

  • Strong knowledge of basic principles of contract drafting, review and negotiation with an ability to provide practical and well-reasoned solutions.

  • Knowledge and understanding of privacy laws.

  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English (both written and oral).

  • Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

  • Must be excellent in MS office and comfortable with new technology.

  • Responsive and follows through on commitments
