Job Description
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with GDPR and local privacy laws in the Middle East (ME), India and Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Your responsibilities will include managing privacy operations, advising on compliance with GDPR and local data protection laws, monitoring adherence to GDPR standards and coordinating with Group Data Privacy for enforcing global privacy policy and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of GDPR and local data protection laws and be familiar with our industry and the nature of its data processing activities. We are looking for someone who is skilled at leading complex cross-functional initiatives and is passionate about data privacy.
Scope Of Position
Work with HR team, Legal, Information Security and business and technology stakeholders to ensure processes, business activities, and internal controls are effective in managing regulatory, compliance, technical, operational, and business risks with a privacy and data protection focus.
Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate the company’s data processing activities
Provide advice and instructions on how to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
Monitor data management procedures and compliance within the company for ME & APAC region.
Participate in meetings with managers to ensure privacy by design at all levels
Maintain record of processing activities (RoPA) for ME & APAC.
Ensure we address all queries from data subjects within legal timeframes
Liaise with other organisations that process data on our behalf
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Law or relevant experience.
7+ years of experience in Privacy Operations or Compliance, Risk Mitigation or Information Governance.
Work experience in data protection and legal compliance is a plus
Solid knowledge of GDPR and national data protection laws in the ME, India and APAC region
Knowledge of data processing operations in the company’s sector is preferable
Familiarity with information security, IT architecture, privacy issues associated with cloud hosting etc.
Ability to handle confidential information
