About Delhi State Legal Services Authority

The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) provides free legal aid to underprivileged individuals, ensuring access to justice for those who cannot afford legal services. Established under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, DSLSA offers legal counseling, conducts legal literacy programs, and facilitates dispute resolution through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods. It works with law colleges, NGOs, and government bodies to raise legal awareness and promote fair access to justice. DSLSA's efforts help empower marginalized communities, ensuring that legal rights are accessible to all.

About the Internship

Department of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) at Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), Delhi invites students of law from across India to apply for Winter Internship Program for year 2024-25. This is an opportunity where you’ll get to see and do your bit to help DSLSA realize its mission — ‘Access to justice for all’ through ‘Sewing Samech Samarpan.’ It's going to be the students who want to be out in the community socially and who are passionate about serving marginalized communities that we seek.

Upon completion they will be awarded 3 Excellence certificates for outstanding candidates. To become certified, a minimum of 75 percent attendance is necessary. Come and contribute yourself.

Who Can Apply

Law students either of Five years or Three years degree course are eligible to apply for this program.

Skill Required

Good skills in writing (English), legal writing, basic understanding of law, and knowledge of using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Timeline

1. 1st December 2024 (10:00 AM onwards)

   Online applications open on www.dslsa.org.

2. 15th December 2024 (by 5:00 PM)

   Last date for application submission, including ID card, passport-size photo, and recommendation letter.

3. 18th December 2024

   Shortlisted students will be notified via email.

4. 20th December 2024

   Confirm participation by sending an email to legallitwing-dslsa@nic.in.

5. 10th to 30th January 2025

   Internship period.

   During the internship, students may get the opportunity to visit the following authorities and institutions:

   Courts & Tribunals:

   1. District Courts (Civil & Criminal).

   2. Family Courts.

   3. Special Courts (Section 138 N.I. Act).

   4. Mediation Centers.

   5. Tribunals (Labour, Armed Forces, Debt Recovery, Consumer Forums, etc.).

      Outreach Activities:

   6. Door-to-door campaigns.

   7. Legal Services Clinics.

      Child Care Institutions:

   8. Juvenile Observation Homes.

   9. Juvenile Justice Boards.

   10. Children’s Homes & Welfare Committees.

       Jails & Police Stations:

   11. Tihar/Rohini Jails.

   12. Police Stations/Forensic Labs.

       Government Establishments:

   13. NCPCR

   14. HBAS (Mental Health Institution).

   15. One-Stop Centers.

   16. Shelter Homes

   17. District Magistrate and Labour Offices.

       Academic Credit:

       Internship certificates will be awarded upon successful completion. Top 3 candidates with outstanding performance and innovative ideas will receive Excellence Certificates.

       Attendance

       Minimum 75% attendance is must for getting the Internship Certificate.
