One-liner: A court in Dekhi has put four persons on trial for various offences, including rioting and mischief by fire or explosive substance to destroy a building, in a case related to the 2020 northeast Delhi riots.

Rioting inside parking lot: The case relates to a rioting incident inside a parking lot on Feb 25, 2020.

Committed the offences: Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat ordered the framing of charges against Shahrukh, Ashwani, Ashu, and  Juber, saying there were grounds to presume that they had committed the offences.

Discharged: The judge, however, discharged Kasim and Khalid Ansari, saying there was no material evidence against them except their disclosure statements.

Disobedience: As the accused had assembled despite prohibitory orders, they also committed the offence under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the IPC, the court said.

Complaint by owner: The present case was filed by the Jyoti Nagar police station based on a complaint by the owner of an East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) parking lot.
