Shivling in Gyanvapi complex: Sealing of spot ordered

One-liner: A local court in Varanasi on Monday directed the district administration to seal the spot in the Gyanvapi Masjid complex where a Shivling was found.

Security: A civil judge (senior division) directed district magistrate Varanasi, police commissioner and CRPF commandant to ensure the security of the sealed area.

Location: The mosque is located close to Kashi Vishwanath temple and the local court is hearing a plea by a group of women seeking permission for daily prayers.

Satisfied: After working for over two hours, the court commission concluded its work on Monday.  All parties were satisfied with the work, Varanasi District Magistrate said.

Peaceful: Commissioner of Police of Varanasi A Satish Ganesh said there was no law and order issue during the survey work.

SC to hear mosque panel plea today: The SC is scheduled to hear today the plea of the management of Gyanvapi mosque against the survey of the complex in Varanasi.

Development: It will hear the matter amid an important development with a Varanasi court on Monday directing the district administration to seal the spot of the survey.

Bottom line: Three court-appointed advocate commissioners, five lawyers each from two sides and an assistant besides a videography team carried out the survey.
