Verdict in Akbaruddin Owaisi hate speech cases today

One-liner: A special court in Hyderabad on Tuesday adjourned to April 13 the judgment in hate speech cases registered against AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi.

MLA in court: The MLA, facing cases for his hate speeches delivered at Nizamabad and Nirmal in Telangana in Dec 2012,  appeared in court on Tuesday.

Brother of Asaduddin: Akbaruddin, the younger brother of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, was booked under IPC sections for hate speeches.

On bail: Earlier, multiple cases were registered against Akbaruddin for hate speeches in Nizamabad on Dec 8, 2012, and at Nirmal town on Dec 22, 2012. He was also arrested and subsequently released on bail.

Bottom line: A total of 41 witnesses were examined in the Nizamabad case, while 33 in the Nirmal case.
