One-liner: The Delhi High Court on Monday disposed of a plea, filed before Diwali, against a complete ban on sale, storage and use of firecrackers, saying there is no reason to continue with the petition as the festival is over.
What the plea is: The plea sought a modification to a Sept 15 Delhi govt order that imposed the ban on all kinds of firecrackers on account of pollution concerns.
Decision an overreach: The HC was hearing the plea which claimed that the Delhi govt's decision of imposing the complete ban was an overreach as the SC had never ordered an absolute ban on sale of crackers in the national capital.
