FICL Supports 2nd Annual General Counsel Summit Asia 2026 by Economist Enterprise

FICL is pleased to support the 2nd annual General Counsel Summit Asia 2026, organised by Economist Enterprise, taking place on 15 October 2026 in Singapore. The Summit will bring together General Counsels, senior in-house lawyers, legal leaders and business professionals to discuss key developments shaping corporate legal functions across the Asia-Pacific region.

The 2nd annual General Counsel Summit will feature discussions on the evolving role of General Counsels and the challenges facing businesses in a changing regulatory and commercial environment. The programme will cover geopolitics and trade, regulatory fragmentation, artificial intelligence, legal technology, M&A and antitrust, cybersecurity, data regulation, ESG and corporate leadership.

A key focus of the Summit will be the changing role of the General Counsel as legal departments increasingly engage with broader business strategy. Sessions will explore how GCs can navigate the intersection of law, culture and geopolitics, while working with executive leadership and other corporate functions.

Artificial intelligence will be another major theme. Discussions will examine the changing role of lawyers in AI-driven legal functions, the potential liability associated with AI agents, and how organisations can identify and create value through the use of AI in legal operations.

The programme will also address M&A and antitrust, including regulatory considerations affecting cross-border transactions. Other sessions will focus on cybersecurity and data breaches, digital infrastructure, technology regulation and the growing legal implications of data governance.

The Summit will further examine ESG, legal operations and the relationship between General Counsels and CFOs, highlighting the increasingly interconnected nature of legal, financial and strategic decision-making within organisations.

The event will conclude with a forward-looking discussion on the issues that may shape the responsibilities of General Counsels in 2027 and beyond.

Overall, the 2nd annual General Counsel Summit will provide a platform for legal and business professionals to exchange perspectives on emerging challenges and developments affecting in-house legal teams across Asia-Pacific.
